Sharni Layton is one of Australian Netball’s tenacious defenders. Â Sharni has an impressive career history including a Trans-Tasman Netball League Premiership, a Gold medal at the World Netball Championships in Singapore in 2011 and winning the 2011 Holden Test Series to regain World Number 1 ranking with the Australian Diamonds. Â As a member of the Australian under 21’s team from 2006-2009, Sharni won Gold at the 2009 World Youth Netball Championships in the Cook Islands.
In 2008, Sharni was signed to play for the Melbourne Vixens in the ANZ Championship. Â In 2010 she transferred to the Adelaide Thunderbirds, winning the ANZ Championship with the club the same year. Â Sharni currently plays for the Collingwood Magpies and is the 2017 captain of the Australian Diamonds. Â She is a dual ANZ Championship Premiership player and 2015 Finals Series MVP.
