Who are your basketball camps suitable for?

Our camps are designed for boys and girls in Canberra, aged 5-14. Whether they’re just starting out or already have experience on the court, all skill levels are welcome.

What activities are included in your Canberra basketball camps?

Players get stuck into fitness drills, fun exercises, and gameplay for a well-rounded basketball experience.

Skill-building sessions focus on dribbling, passing, shooting, defence and teamwork, along with game IQ exercises to improve decision-making on the court. From fun, competitive games to video analysis, individual improvement is at the heart of our itinerary.

How are campers grouped?

Although around 50 children attend each camp, we split players into groups of around 10 (with no more than 15 kids per group).

Groups are based on age and skill level, and children can go with their friends if this is requested in the sign-up form.

What should my child bring to camp?

There’s no need to bring any basketball equipment – we’ve got that sorted. Just make sure your child arrives in comfortable sportswear and trainers, ready to play. They’re welcome to bring their own basketball, if they like.

Please pack a nut-free lunch in a clearly labelled container, along with a personal water bottle. We’ll provide water refills and healthy snacks to keep everyone energised throughout the day.

How do I choose the right camp for my child?

We recommend choosing a basketball holiday camp where enthusiastic coaches are able to give children one-on-one support with key skills. Healthy competition through games is great, but the best camps help kids grow as people as well as players.

At ASC, we go beyond basketball training. Children can pick up better coordination and agility, but this is also about teamwork, leadership, communication, and instilling healthy habits from an early age.

Since our camps last three days, it’s a perfect way for kids to try out different sports. See below for more sports camps on offer.

Our camps and programs are not generally suitable for children with significant physical or intellectual disabilities. Although our Chief of Staff and Coaching Director’s are traditionally school teachers or local head coaches who have the neccesary training, we’re not able to provide the one-to-one care that some children with disabilities may need. Nevertheless, we understand that every circumstance is different and we welcome a call about your child’s individual needs.

We welcome participants from all backgrounds and parts of the world. We value diversity and do not tolerate any discriminatory practices.
