Translated from Spanish, ‘fútbol sala’ literally means ‘hall football’; a fast-paced, exciting, five-a-side indoor variant of accredited Soccer. Originally developed, in Uruguay, in the 1930’s, as an indoor recreational activity, Futsal is a now a skilled competitive sport played all over the world. The surface, ball, and rules create an emphasis on improvisation, creativity, and technique as well as ball control and passing in small spaces.
