ASC Summer Camps December News
Australian Sports Camps signs off a fantastic 2014 after twenty-three camps across Australia this December. We have loved having all of you along to work with the stars and we have seen so much dedication and improvement from everyone! We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our hard working coaches for their efforts across the nation so far! And look forward to seeing our January coaching panels in the New Year! In each state we have had:
Queensland
We have loved having Australian Netball Diamond Kym Ravaillion, former West Indian Test cricketer Brendan Nash and Brisbane Roar Football Club A-League Premier Jack Hingert at our programs and look forward to seeing Firebird Gretel Tippett in January at our second Upper Mt Gravatt netball program along our second basketball program.
New South Wales
Test legend Doug Walters and NSW Blue Kurtis Patterson led the participants at cricket! While former Hockeyroo Kate Hollywood and England Netball Hall of Famer Sonia Mkoloma were in attendance too! We look forward to seeing Doug and Kurtis at Hunters Hill cricket and Sonia at our second Moore Park netball program again in January. Additionally, 480 game NBL stalwart former Sydney Kings Bruce Bolden coming along to our basketball program at Moore Park in January.

  • Rob Quiney
  • Mluleki Nkala
  • Michael Beer
  • and Olympic baseball pitcher Grant Weir.
In tennis we learned from dual Davis Cup finalist Richard Fromberg! While in soccer accomplished A-League players Roddy Vargas and David Williams were on hand. Former Hockeyroo Stacia Joseph is directing our hockey program while past and present NBL players Steven Hoare and Lucas Walker. In January we have seven camps in cricket, netball, soccer, tennis and basketball welcoming back many of these coaches and a visit from Geelong multiple AFL Premiership player Harry Taylor at our summer pre-season football camp at Brighton.
South Australia
January 20-22 sees us come down to Westminster School where we are expecting great numbers for our programs. Alongside former first class player Chris Harms who is directing the program for cricket we have Adelaide Striker Jon Holland. In netball, beside former Adelaide Raven and experienced elite level coach Trudy Barker who is directing the program, we will have 2014 Australian Fast5Flyer and Thunderbird Kate Shimmin. Watch this space as we confirm soccer and tennis stars to supplement our talented panels.

As we build towards our January programs including the 20th year of the Justin Langer Cricket Camp at Hale School, we have enjoyed camps in netball, cricket, soccer and basketball. Terry Alderman was on hand at cricket! While former Socceroos Shaun Murphy and Stan Lazaridis who played over 150 times in the English Premier League! helped out our soccer participants. Australian Netball Diamond star shooter Caitlin Bassett worked with our girls and we look forward to seeing her again in January at our Floreat netball program alongside our basketball program at the same venue. The Justin Langer program on January 12, 13 and 14 is shaping to be a fantastic program! With Justin along each day despite his busy schedule with Western Australia. Terry Alderman will also be along with many others to be announced. We have a live-in option for all of our January WA programs including tennis, netball and basketball along with the Justin Langer Cricket Camp.
