Sharni Layton is one of Australian Netball's tenacious defenders. Sharni has an impressive career history including a Trans-Tasman Netball League Premiership, a Gold medal at the World Netball Championships in Singapore in 2011 and winning the 2011 Holden Test Series to regain World Number 1 ranking with the Australian Diamonds. As a member of the Australian under 21's team from 2006-2009, Sharni won Gold at the 2009 World Youth Netball Championships in the Cook Islands. In 2008, Sharni was signed to play for the Melbourne Vixens in the ANZ Championship. In 2010 she transferred to the Adelaide Thunderbirds, winning the ANZ Championship with the club the same year. Sharni currently plays for the Collingwood Magpies and is the 2017 captain of the Australian Diamonds. She is a dual ANZ Championship Premiership player and 2015 Finals Series MVP. Sharni can be found appearing at our SA Netball programs as a guest coach.
