The Melbourne Learn Sailing Program is an exciting partnership with the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria. Tackers' is a group program introducing children aged 7 to 12 to sailing. All, in a fun, safe, accessible and affordable way. Also, it focuses on non-competitive learning within a supportive environment. Session plans have a great structure. So, kids don’t need to have any sailing experience. Which is great for this Melbourne Learn Sailing Program. Also, they don’t have to be a member of a club to participate. We provide all the equipment, including the boats. The Melbourne Learn Sailing Program runs 5 days 9:00am to 12:30pm daily.
This Sailing Camp teaches children about:
- team work – compromise, share, express thoughts and look after each other
- listening
- confidence to accomplish something new
- cognitive skills
- problem solving
- the weather and wind awareness
About Royal Yacht Club Victoria (RYCV)
The Royal Yacht Club Victoria (RYCV) or 'Royals' as it is affectionately known, was initially founded as the Port Phillip Yacht Club in May 1853. It remains one of the oldest yacht clubs in Australia. The club is situated in Williamstown, Victoria just 13km away from Melbourne. It boasts a stunning view of the city skyline and is steeped in decades of yachting history and tradition. Today RYCV has more than 900 members and over 300 yachts on the register, making it an ideal club for sailors with all levels of experience. Apprentice sailors can enjoy reliable and steady breezes with little or no current, making it the perfect stretch of water. It's the ideal venue for our Melbourne Learn Sailing Program.
