ASC Sports Talent – Winter Camps 2017

Winter school holidays are nearly here, and places are filling up fast for ASC Winter 2017 programs.  Moreover, programs are full of sports talent. Australia wide we offer Basketball, AFL, Hockey, Netball, Soccer, Karate, Rugby Union and Rugby League camps across all the major capital cities.  These holiday camps are suitable for 6 to 16 year old boys and girls of any skill level. Also, camps run over 3 days from 9am to 3pm daily.  We employ specialist coaches with a minimum Level 1 coaching accreditation.  They work alongside guest talent.  So, your kids can learn from the best and meet their sporting heroes too. AFL Sports Stars

Across the country, we are delighted to be joined by professional AFL players, past and present.  As they participate as guest coaches at our AFL camps.

ASC NSW – Kids AFL Sports Camps

Callan Ward, current Greater Western Sydney Giants co-captain, will be working with the NSW participants in Daceyville and North Ryde. Debuting in AFL in 2008, he has proven himself as an aggressive tackler, strong marker and talented kicker, having been named the Giants’ Best and Fairest in 2012.

ASC VIC – Kids AFL Sports Camps

In VIC, we have AFL camps for girls and boys. Karen Paxman will join us, after debuting with Melbourne Football Club in the 2017 women’s league. She is an elite midfielder, five time All Australian and six-time premiership player in the state league. Harry Taylor (Geelong Football Club), Christian Petracca (Melbourne Football Club), Robbie Tarrant (North Melbourne Football Club), Lynden Dunn (Collingwood Football Club) and Kevin Sheedy (Super Coach & Essendon legend) will also guest coach at our various AFL VIC programs. Christian is recognised as one of the best young players in the league, with many comparing him to Steve Johnson, Norm Smith medallist and three-time premiership player. Harry, is a former attendee of our camps as a junior and now passes on his experience, having coached with us on several occasions. In addition, he is a two-time premiership player and 2015 Jim Stynes medallist. Establishing himself as one of the premier defenders in the league, now converting to a key forward this year.  Lynden, has played football in AFL and VFL for 13 seasons, described as one of Melbourne’s best one on one defenders, before joining the Collingwood Football Team this year.  Robbie is strong and agile, and is one of the most destructive defenders in the game. Kevin Sheedy is arguably the greatest contributor to the modern-day game of AFL Football.  Playing and coaching the game of AFL football for over 40 years, Kevin has been a leader of innovation and a master of strategy.  Also, Kevin has been a regular coach and contributor to ASC over many years.  He will be present at the Bulleen camp, using his extensive experience to coach participants.

ASC WA – Kids AFL Sports Camps

Over in WA, our AFL participants will get to work with Karl Langdon (formerly with the West Coast Eagles) and Andrew Embley.  Karl is currently a leading sports commentator and radio personality since retiring from the AFL in 1996 after 100 games.  Also, Andrew is a former AFL player for the West Coast Eagles.  Plus, he was the 2006 Norm Smith medallist and his former coach John Worsfold credits much of the Eagles’ mid-2000s success to him. It was thrilling to have these AFL greats join us at various AFL camps.  As well as passing on their skills and knowledge to the next generation of AFL players!

ASC Netball Sports Stars

Also, this year, we are fortunate enough to have Australian Diamond squad members and elite players along to our Netball camps across Australia, bringing their knowledge of playing at the highest level of netball to participants. Furthermore, we are excited to have Abbey McCulloch at our NSW netball camps. Abbey brings her knowledge as a qualified secondary school teacher along with her experience as an elite netballer to our program. She is co-captain of the NSW Swifts, and as a junior player she was highly successful representing NSW in under 17, 19 and 21 squads, winning the National Netball Championship six years in a row! Her experience with kids and on the court, makes her the perfect guest coach for our Netball camp. In VIC, we will be joined by Kate Moloney, Emily Mannix and Jo Weston. Emily, plays for the Melbourne Vixens.  And, is a true circle defender in the positions of Goal Keeper (GK) and Goal Defence (GD).  She is aggressive, competitive and reliable.  Jo was a part of the Diamonds 2015 Constellation Cup squad.  Also, she’s an uncompromising defender for the Melbourne Vixens.  With, the ability to read the play, think quick and create intercepts. Kate is playing her sixth year with the Melbourne Vixens and is the current team captain. She is an integral role to the Vixens midcourt and brings her experience to coach the next generation. Sepi Hawke (One Netball Ambassador) will bring her passion for the game to our ACT camp, while Kaylia Stanton, Courtney Bruce and Shannon Eagland will feature at our WA camps. Kaylia, Courtney and Shannon all play for West Coast Fever.  Also, Shannon played for the Diamonds’ Squad late last year.  As well as representing Australia at the Fast5 Netball World Series in South Africa.

ASC Soccer Sports Stars

Our soccer stars will have the opportunity to be coached by some of the country’s top players, including Massimo Murdocca (former Brisbane Roar & Melbourne City), Shaun Murphy (Australian Olympian, Shefield United & Pert Glory), Jai Ingham (Melbourne Victory), Caitlin Munoz (2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup & Canberra United), Wade Dekker (Melbourne City) and Bai Antoniou (Sydney Football Club). Kate Hollywood (Australia), Waseem Ahmed (Pakistan), Tim Deavin (Australia) and Joshua Beltz (Australia) bring their expertise to our hockey camps across the country. These players have all played in the Olympics.  And, they attend our camps equipped with their knowledge of the game from the highest level. Sporting talent, Louis Timms, Igor Hadziomerovic, Mollie McKendrick and Jessica Bibby will help develop the skills of your basketballers, while Matt Lucas, Tom Staniforth (ACT Brumbies) and Tom Cusack (Australian Rugby Sevens player) will be valuable additions to our Rugby Union camps.

ASC Karate Stars

For the first time ever, we are running an ‘Experience Karate and Martial Arts’ camp in VIC, and are pleased to be joined by Morgan Abouzeid (6th Dan Black Belt) and Christella Vu (5th Dan Black Belt), as well as experienced black-belt Karate coaches accredited by the Australian Karate Federation.
