Natalie Medhurst rose to prominence as a GS/GA in 2004 with Adelaide bringing her speed, agility and accuracy to the fore. Continued strong performances helped her break into the National side, making her debut v Jamaica in July 2007. Under pressure in the final quarter of the 2007 World Championship Final, Medhurst was brought on to convert 3 of 3 attempts as Australia defeated NZ 42-38.
Medhurst became a dual World Champion in 2011 as Australia once again thwarted New Zealand, converting 19 out of 23 attempts in the close 58-57 victory. Medhurst was truly at the top of the game, also winning the 2011 ANZ Championship MVP with Leana de Bruin while playing for the Queensland Firebirds. In 2014, she played for the Australian Diamonds at the Commonwealth Games, and helped them win their first gold medal in 12 years. In 2015, she became 1 of only 8 players to have won 3 Netball World Championships.
She is currently the captain of West Coast Fever, with a contract signed until the end of 2019.
Medhurst has appeared at our QLD Netball programs and we look forward to giving our participants an opportunity to learn off one of the world’s best.
